Do I
have to come to Georgia to train?
Answer: NO -
We train two ways: One-On-ONE at our office - or - Over-The-Phone. We prefer that you come here for the training, due to
the fact that individuals learn better visually.
Question: How do I book my training dates?
Answer: Go to this link - www.shipperscarriers.com/calendar.htm and view our calendar. Any dates that are not "BOOKED are available for booking. Any dates that state "WAITING FOR DEPOSIT" may come available. Pick your 2 days for training and call us to make sure the date is still available. NOTE: Makes sure to use the arrows at the top to go to the next month.
Question: What is the difference between being a "Broker" versus a "Agent" ?
Answer: BROKER: Is a company that assumes all general legal requirements to operate as a Broker.
They must take of the bond, authority, license and any insurance. (Sometimes even cargo ins.) The Broker usually always take care of all the billing and collections. AGENT: Is hired as an independent contractor who works under the broker's authority and receives a percentage of the freight that he/she sets up to be loaded and delivered.
Question: Will I learn all the paperwork and procedures concerning the movement of freight?
Answer: Yes. We train step-by-step and one-on-one (Not a classroom full of strangers). We established our training manual for this purpose. Many individuals go to book stores or online and find only materials that teach terminology, but doesn't teach how to broker the loads. Our manual is step-by-step with sample of the paperwork needed. From pick-up to delivery.
Question: How do I get my loads moved?
Answer: Instructing you on how to use the boards on the internet to your advantage. We supply you with software that makes this job even easier.
Question: How do I find a broker?
Answer: We have established ourselves as a quality "Freight Broker-Agent Training Program" with many brokerage companies who are willing to give you a start. We teach you what to ask and why.
Question: How do brokers pay and what is the split?
Answer: Most pay between 50/50 to 65/35 to your favor. They usually do all the billing and collections. Most pay weekly or bi-weekly.
Question: How do I find shippers?
Answer: We will show you where to look. There are even brokers that share loads with agents. But, your main job is to call on shippers and set up new accounts and to find carrier companies to move the loads. Keep in mind we will give you the knowledge and the tools to do the job. You have a great opportunity to make a great living - if your a go getter! This business is not an over-the-night-get-rich-scheme. You have to work at it, but if your willing... you won't regret it!
Question: Why does your training only takes two days?
Answer: Our training is one-on-on, just you and the trainer. We do not bring anyone else in the training, unless it's at your request. So you receive our full attention. We we went into this training program to help truck drivers and individuals who wanted to learn this side of the business. We understand that many have tried to learn about this industry and came up with nothing. The fact is this industry does not share the information.... We Will.
Question: Is there a deposit required for training?
Answer: Yes. For one individual there is a $200 deposit with a balance of $795 - Total Charge = $995. For two individuals there is a $400 deposit with a balance of $1370 = Total Charge: $1780 - To make deposit go to: www.shipperscarriers.com/payment.htm . No refunds if you cancel the appointment. Balance is due on first day of training or before.
Question: Where do I stay during training?
Answer: At one of the local HOTELS go to: www.shipperscarriers.com/hotel.htm. The Country Hearth Inn is the closest to our office - 5 minutes up the road. Both Country Hearth Inn and Howard Johnson offer there hotels at a discount if you mention SHIPPERSCARRIERS.COM.
Question: What forms are there to pay for this program?
Answer: Online using PayPal - www.shipperscarriers.com/payment.htm. For Over the Phone Transfer using Com-Check, T-Check - (Call Us). Mail a Money Order or Bank Cashier Check - Send by Fed-Ex or UPS or US Mail Overnight. Get a Tracking number, so you know we received it.
